Rocksalt

I keep going back to this place. I love the food, the wine selection is great, and the staff are very friendly, changing their approach to match the mood of the table. I don't mind paying $65 for bread, entree, main, dessert and wine when they are of this quality. Rocksalt is hidden treasure I've been revealing to a lot of my friends, and every last one of them has thanked me for it.

I'd like to thank the staff for being so lovely when we went there recently for a friend's birthday. Having no prior warning but noting the birthday present on the table, they gave preferential treatment to the birthday boy and, on their own initiative, turned his dessert into a 'cake' with candles.

On a side note, occassionally when the restaurant is very busy we've had a bit of a wait, but nothing more than 30 minutes and the staff continued to check that we were happy and replenished our drinks during that time.

The food quality is excellent at this restaurant that is hidden in suburbia. Great wine list and the service was impeccable, even by my tough standards.

The entrees were well presented and the mains were of an excellent size. The vanilla creme brulee was how creme brulees should be.

Leaves a lot of other Canberra restaurants for dead.

This "restautant" is crap; unless you have tastes up your butt and like waiting no less than 3 hours for a main course, which is average.

Trust my advice, save your money and go to the excellent Take Away around the corner or the KFC up the street - both serve excellent food for less than $10.00. Better than being fleeced $58.00 for 2 calamari, one meatball and some cold lamb - all of which anyone can cook better and cheaper at home.

Rock Salt in Hawker, ACT is s*** and a waste of money - they should invite Gordon Ramsey - he would have a field day with the 3 hour wait for the mains to come out - just do everyone a favour and close your "restaurant" and stop wasting their time. Anyone who has posted a positive comment about this place either is the deluded owner or has taste up their arse...les.
