I am afraid to say that I will never come back to Agave again! Firstly,It was too hot in there, we were melting there, I think the air conditioner didnt work properly! I ordered tacos with beef which was so disappointing in quality and quantity. The beef was too dry and it came with a bit of sauce! At the end of the night I paid $45 for a shared entree, tacos and a drink! I could get much better than this anywhere else for that price! Therefore, unfortunately I do not recommend Agave!!!

had a great night at Agave last night, was really impressed with the food and so happy to see authentic mexican dishes, having travelled to mexico it was refreshing to see the real deal here in sydney finally, and the best part was the owner coming to explain the tequilas to us and happily letting us sample a couple of them before we purchased, a nice personal touch. we'll be back Agave..

i had dinner at Agave on sat night and was really excited to see sydney finally has a great and thankfully"authentic" mexican restaurant. my days of sour cream covered soggy nachos and mince hard shell tacos are thankfully over. i had a beautiful crispy skinned barramundi in a delicious tomato, olive and caper sauce...... and finished it off with my favourite dessert, churros.. cheers Agave

I visited Agave recently and was impressed with the atmosphere. The Mexican band was a nice touch. The food overall was good, but the entrees were a bit hit and miss. The total bill (for entrees, mains, one dessert & a couple of drinks) came to just over $100 for two, which I thought reflected good value. I will definitely visit again.

Turn around and walk away I really wanted to love you Agave, I really did. I love Mexican and yes, there is a major lack of good mexican in Sydney and I was hoping that you were going to change things for me. It's not often I walk out of a restaurant seething with a feeling of being utterly ripped off and robbed.. Do you know the feeling? The feeling when you really want to either punch a punching bag or maybe even just say how you really feel about something but your usual airs and graces stop you. The flavour of the food itself wasn't bad.. had I only paid half of what I did maybe I wouldn't have had such a bad experience. But I'm sorry.. for a $28 main you really want to walk out feeling like you didn't order off the kids menu! Particularly since we had also had entrees! And I'm not a huge eater! With your dish comes 2 tortillas... you want another one? Well you probably won't need it anyway because all you get will fit into two. To add to the feeling of disappointment.. Our dishes specifically said on the menu that they were served with Salsa (which is normally an added side for an added price if it doesn't come with your meal) and the chef 'forgot' to send ours out. When we brought this up with the waitress all we got was a 'sorry'... still charged me the full price and didn't perhaps offer one of the other sides I had ordered on the house. One more gripe before I call this review quits.. Oh my god it was SO HOT in there, we were melting... yeah maybe the heat added to the atmosphere like making you feel you were at the equator in a mexican taco stand or something but puh-lease! If I have to use my serviette to wipe the sweat from my upper lip instead of the salsa I never received.... well. So yet I say again, I'm sorry Agave I really wanted to love you but I'm afraid I will never be back and I will never recommend you. If you're prepared to drop that kind of money on a meal.. save it for a good restaurant where you get a decent meal for the $$$. If you're just up for a mexican fix.. go to one of the cheaper takeaway taco bars and at least you will feel content and satisfied.
