Intermezzo Italian Restaurant offers a truly Italian experience to complement the Italian Renaissance architecture of the historical GPO building. Intermezzo Italian Restaurant features classic Italian styling with white jacketed waiters and a traditional Italian cuisine to bring you an authentic Italian experience. To complete the experience we created a 7.5 meter wine tower that is temperature and humidity controlled to house over 2,000 bottles of wine. Intermezzo Italian Restaurant is diverse in its experiences offering the glamour of seating under the 8 story glass atrium, the intimacy and action from the kitchen in the heritage front room and the alfresco experience of seating on the colonnade. ?This is old-school European charm, with a pinch of Sydney sass. There?s a sun-drench atrium inside, and a tower of wine to rival Pisa?s leaning version The menu is southern Italian classics.. La Dolce vita indeed? SMH Good Food Guide 2011

Classic Italian styling with a huge wine tower and set under an 8 storey atrium sets an truly beautiful lunch experience. We stopped by for lunch and we were both very impressed particulalry me. The food was classic central italian which is often hard to find. The eggplant parmigiana with smoked buffalo mozarella was delicate and devine. the pasta dishes were lite and flavoursome. The service was on the money and the recommendations from the waiter was well recieved and adhered too. I must say we didnt have a great deal of time and they certainly met my expectation to getting me back to work although i would of prefered to stay and indulge in a further glass of wine or two from a very extensive list. All round a worth while experience and certainly one i will return for and will recommend.
