After a stunning transformation, the Cafe Opera is now ready to welcome you again. With a market-fresh offering on the buffet as well as a creative a la carte selection, Cafe Operas team of passionate chefs are uncompromising in their relentless search for the freshest ingredients available in our local markets. With the new Caf? Opera restaurant, executive head chef Tamas Pamer and executive sous chef Julien Pouteau have drawn on their experience working in Michelin Star restaurants across Europe. This is never more apparent than through the duo?s creativity with seasonal local ingredients in the French-inspired a la carte menu. In redeveloping Caf? Opera, InterContinental Sydney?s team worked with local designer Thomas Bucich to create an almost theatrical atmosphere ? and in doing so, brought the kitchen to the dining room. Live cooking stations, tastings and other interactions offer diners more than just a taste of Sydney?s best produce. The result of Thomas Bucich?s attentions is a series of rich, colourful, bold and exciting spaces, with careful consideration given to both a la carte and buffet dining experiences. The tableau of design elements ? from the over scaled five-metre-long camelback sofa, antique mirrors and European patisserie down to the market-style chalkboard buffet labels ? immediately communicate a departure from traditional hotel dining. For all the drama and colour, Caf? Opera still provides an intimate dining experience. Spaces include the main dining floor, two private dining rooms and an alfresco dining court within InterContinental Sydney?s historic 1851 sandstone arcades. LUNCH Monday to Saturday $45 per adult/$30 per child Sunday $60 per adult/$40 per child, includes endless sparkling wine for adults and soft drinks for children DINNER Sunday to Thursday $55 per adult/$35 per child Friday & Saturday $75 per adult/$45 per child Children are defined between the ages of 5-12 years
