2008 Yealands Way Pinot Noir (NZ)

The Yealands Pinot Noir was sourced from a single vineyard located in the Wairau Valley. Extended sunshine hours combined with a long, relatively cool growing season resulted in optimal fruit development.

This Pinot Noir displays dark cherries and ripe plum flavours with spice and chocolate notes. Full bodied, with an elegant structure and a rich mouth feel.

 

2007 Maxwell 'Little Demon' Cabernet Merlot (SA)

Brilliant dark red colour, it’s aroma is highlighted by red currant, soft plum, mildmint and delicate violet.

The palate shows both the persistence and depth of Cabernet, and the smoothinfluence of Merlot. Light savoury notes blend with currants, blackberries andplum. Interlacing soft tannins contribute to the velvety palate, and round out afull yet gentle finish.

The 2008 reds are the best ever. Enticing aromas of exotic, dark fruits provide the entrée to this stunning Margaret River Cabernet. Full-bodied, well balanced with fine, soft tannins, the palate exudes a delicious compote of blackberry, juicy plums and rich, dark chocolate with hints of vanilla.

 

2005 Geoff Merrill 'Pimpala Red' Shiraz (SA)

The colour is a rich deep crimson with dark red hues. The aroma is a very sophisticated blend of blackberry, mulberry, spice and plum with a hint of vanilla and roasted almonds. With time in the glass, the wine opens up to reveal a strong peppery/spice note and some mint. The palate if full of lively dark berry fruits, with some chocolate and a savoury soy finish.

 

2006 Koonowla 'The Ringmaster' Shiraz (SA)

The colour is deep purple with red hues and has a bouquet that is complex with violets, spice and black fruit. The palate has good fruit intensity and length with cedar and oak spice balanced with fine long tannins and good acidity.
