A word from Hooters Parramatta

It was April 1, 1983, in Clearwater, Florida USA and history was about to be made. Six fun loving businessmen with roots in the Midwest of America and with no experience in the food service business were opening the doors to a restaurant with an owl in the logo, chicken wings as the feature item and girls in orange shorts. After frantically locating a friend to show them how to start the fryer (after all it was April Fool’s Day), Hooters was off and crawling. The crawl soon became a stride, and now Hooters is running at full speed with more than 400 restaurants operating worldwide in the U.S.A and in countries such as Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, England, Germany, Greece, Mexico, Peru, Singapore, Switzerland and now Australia. The Hooters brand - which includes an airline, Las Vegas casino hotel, professional golf tour, motorcar racing series, swimsuit calendar, credit card and magazine – is instantly recognisable throughout the world. This “neighbourhood" restaurant concept is simple... a fun and casual beach theme restaurant with a great atmosphere, delicious ribs, burgers and chicken wings, ice cold beer, sports on television and the only place you will find the “nearly world famous” Hooters Girls! These elements combined make Hooters the place for everyone in the community who enjoys great food and good fun!

The food is average (although very large servings) and the menu selection is pretty poor. You'd find it difficult to have something different each time you went back. The girls and the atmosphere are the draw cards — the dancing on the chairs etc is different!
