100% well done! Shows what a family run business is all about! Work to support each other and the guests are made to feel like family entering their home. Great service, great food, great setting! Well done team Alfonzos!
I lived on Hutt St for a year and Fonsies was by far the best restaurant along that strip. We still head to the city and go there at least once a week whether its for breaky or lunch. We are yet to be disapointed - the staff are fab and the food is to die for. I recommend the calzone, chicken salad, vegie stack, salmon sub and the seafood thingy on the fritter. Im salivating just thinking about it! The only negative is that it is often so busy it can be a bit noisy - just goes to show how popular it is!
Delicious food and authentic home made sauces. Staff friendly with sound knowledge of their dishes and pride in what they are able to serve to their clients.
Authentic Rustic appeal with food to match. Traditional Italian menu. The food quality was easily 10/10 with large serves. The Mediterranei Platter (Antipasto) was to die for and is a must have entree when you order. We will be definately returning to pick another dish from the menu. Bookings are a must.
We booked Alfonso's for a post-wedding brunch on a Monday morning. We booked for 20 and 34 came in the end. Alfonso's put extra staff on for us and handled the ebb and flow of people joining the event very well with remarkably prompt food service. Our waiter was very helpful and patient with us and the brunch was just fantastic. Alfonso's compares favourably with other cafe's price-wise, and the bride and groom were very happy with the choice of venue, even on a 43C day!
Great place to have a brief business meeting first thing in the morning. Coffee is always good and the staff are great.
Great food, lots of casual atmosphere, albeit fairly noisy, but that's part of the attraction.
Went for a Sunday breakfast, we didn't book, we just breezed in. The food was great, rustic and flavoursome when it arrived. However the service speed was glacial even though it wasn't busy (lots of vacant tables). And the trendy waiting staff ensured that they sneered suitably at our obviously pointless questions about the menu. From our observations you needed to be a regular known on a firt name basis to get good service. Great back of house, let down by poor front of house.
Nice and friendly and good coffee ... but breakfasts very ordinary ... and interminable wait (and a peek in the kitchen suggests a refurb is overdue!)
