We've been in for Sunday breakfast and dinner a few times. Sunday breakfast was very busy with large groups but the staff were efficient and we did not wait long to be served, and the food was plentiful, tasty and a good price. The standard dinner menu is good and the specials are a little different from run of the mill, and again are plentiful, tasty and a good price. A well balanced wine list, good wait staff and lively atmosphere makes this a good dining choice.
Great food! I've been there quite a few times for the calamari and the mediteranian chicken salad. Very nice. It's a pity they aren't offering 2 for 1 anymore in the entertainment book though.
I have eaten at Strand on a handful of occasions and the food & service have always been of an impressive standard. Last night I ordered the roasted chicken calzone and I would recommend it. The serving was large, but not at the cost of quality. The restaurant was full, but service was still friendly & attentive. The only negative feedback was that plates were cleared from the table before I'd finished eating. On the whole I look forward to returning — especially now that we're heading towards the warmer months of the year.
good experience, good value, tasty food!! I had the middle eastern salad to which they had no problem adding chicken when i requested it! very tasty! and very prompt with drinks and meal even though they were busy
I have been several times over the years and have never found fault with it. The Fantasia Pizza is amazing, as is the chicken risotto. Attentive staff and a great front area for when it warms up.
Beautiful meals. Quite expensive though.
John the owner needs to learn to be more polite, even in busy times, or maybe he should not do front of house if he does not like dealing with customers, otherwise it is an extremely good place to eat, just avoid the nights John works
Average to good cafe food. Typical large cafe menu. Squid salad however is some of the best I've ever had - so tender! Zucca pizza is good too but risotto is disappointing. Wouldn't rush to Glenelg to try it but if you're a local or down that way, is perfectly good (better option would be to cross the street and go to Tanapa Thai instead though!)
