In my opinion I would say that Cos Restaurant is one of the best in Adelaide. I have been their numerous times and will keep going their for intimate dinners with friends over a nice steak and wine. The ambience is great although it can be a bit noisy if there is a noisy table of 10-12 in the room but then again show me a restaurant which wouldnt be. The majority of the time Cos seems to have groups of 2-6, making for a very intimate dinning experience. The service is great and so is the food. The steaks are delicious; I particularly recommend the eye fillet, medium-rare, with the peppercorn jus and the fried diced potatoes- melts in your mouth. Personally I prefer the steaks to their famous ceasar salad, but each to their own. Every day they have a different specials menu including special baked and nude oysters; these are a particularly nice change to just plain old Kilpatricks. Also if you would like to try one of the best garlic breads in Adelaide then Cos is the place to go. Their garlic bread is a triangle shaped peice of focaccia bread; always nice and tasty. Last but not least is the value for money; the eye fillets only ~$30 with the other steaks ranging up to ~$37. This is great value for the steak that you recieve.

Great for a quick business lunch, with impeccable service and a beautifully laid out dining room. But I have to say, on my last visit the steak was a lot less than first grade. Despite being advertised as MSA grade meat, mine was tough and chewy. Wasn't the case a year or so ago when I last ate here. Caesar salad, amazing as usual. Go, but don't expect a steak anything like the sent-from-heaven melt in your mouth experience you might get at the Lion hotel from their truly genius chef.
