Serving Chinese & Asian.
i love this place so much, fantastic food, reasonable price and the good service.
We were a group of 10 and were overall impressed with the whole visit and the lack of rush in serving us. Courses came out at a comfortable speed and we did not feel as if we were taking too long. The honey prawns were to die for and if we are picky the ribs were the only disappointment. We will certainly return.
I love this place and will continue to come as often as i can :-D Very happy customer
Smoke tea duck is to die for well worth the visit
Absolutely brilliant place...fast and friendly service, fantastic food and a lovely vibrant ambience. I will be back over and over again.
I love East Taste - it's my first choice for Gouger St Chinese. The difference in price between competitors is small, but it's cleaner, the service is friendlier and more efficient and I think the food is better. They're pretty reliable too. On their good days they are excellent, and on their bad days they are still ok. I would estimate that I've had four good days there to every one bad day.
My partner & I love going to East Taste on inexpensive dinner dates. It's a simply furnished restaurant but don't be deceived! As with most of the best eateries on Gouger St it's not about the interior, it's about the food & the people you're with! There are always plenty of staff to assist, even when it gets really busy on Friday & Saturday nights. Fave dishes are the honey eggplant entree & the "BBC" - green beans, bean curd, chilli.
We eat here often. The service is great and the food even better. It is also a favourite with the kids
Fantastic, authentic chinese at a reasonable price. Must try BBC!
The best chinese restaurant in the gouger st. I been there often , like twice a week something maybe three. The food is good as always expecially the s&p squal, bbc, and the s&p oyster. And I really love the shollat cake which i think is the best!!!!
East Taste is a great, realiable little Gouger place. Always easy to get a table (though Friday nights might be tricky) and the food is of very good quality. The service is outstanding, much better than many others along this strip with the wait-staff and kitchen always happy to either suggest dishes or modify to your request. Well worth the (very) few extra bucks it might be compared to Ying Chow etc. Recommended.
Great cheap and cheerful Chinese. Good service and yummy food. Honey eggplant and crispy beef entrees are great. Eshand clay pot with chicken and eggplant is great... as is BBC. Always a winner!
To be fair, have only had one take-away meal but menu looked interesting for a vegetarian. Looked like a nice place to dine in but have to say, my salt and pepper egg-plant (which was reasonably expensive compared with other places on gouger) was the oiliest meal I think I have ever eaten. Flavour was really good, but too greasy for me.
Not as cheap as some of the other asian restaurants down Gouger Street but it's still good value and I think the food is better. It's a very popular place and quite small so it's a good idea to book. Be warned, it can get very noisy in there so don't go if you're looking for a quiet place to chat over dinner! But the vibrancy is great if you like that sort of thing. The Salt & Pepper Squid Tentacles for entree are the best.
Good food but a little more expensive than the other chinese places nearby (i think the prices listed on the menu here are out of date?). Love the e-shand chicken and the salt & pepper squid tentacles. Be warned though, this place is really noisy and so some nights you almost have to shout at each other to be heard. In saying that, it does have a nice feel to it but you should book in advance as its not a big place and often full and has a line up of people waiting outside.
My family and I love going to East Taste. There is always a great buzz and the staff are very efficient and friendly. Our favourite dishes are the Salt & Pepper Oysters and Eggplant, fantastic!
