Find your review hard to believe Andrew, as a regular patron of this establishment I feel your words are unjust. Iconic restaurant offering only impeccable service, amazing fresh produce and above all run professionally with love and care. If you have an issue maybe you should ring the establishment yourself. George is a hands on operator who goes out of his way for his clients. Have some respect, otherwise best not to write reviews which I think are untrue.

Amazing food, Excellent Service, brilliant Restaurant, This is by far one of the best Restaurants in Adelaide! From the moment you step in you are looked after until the moment you leave. The waiters Love their job which really does show in the level of service in which they provide to you. The food is well above excellent, with fresh produce and high levels of details in each and every dish they serve!!! The wine list is excellent with each waiter personally educated in different varietals! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone that wants the best dining experience! I have sampled restaurants all over the world and find myself comparing them to this one all the time! Book early because there is limited seating available! Having the owner come over to our table and speak with us certainly adds to the experience!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I eat at georges regularly, business lunches, structured wine dinners, night with friends or just my wife and I. The food is outstanding, particularly the trout capaccio when it is on and the duck entre is to die for. Georges staff are extremely well trained in wine, food service and food wine matching and they always seem to get the right balance between outstanding service and having a friendly chat. George is a great host and Alex is just as good when George is not around

Quality establishment serving great dishes using local produce. All our dishes experienced were of very high quality. Fantastic wine list with informative and friendly service. Made all the better by the owner George personally looking after our table. Highly recommended. And to the previous review written with the way you have described georges, sorry but you have no idea on the concept of good food, service and just overall respect. Better you eat at Cafe Primo. Shame on you to put down one of the most impressive restaurants in our city.

A long awaited dinner at George's on Waymouth began well and the night only got better. With polished wooden floorboards, wooden rafters and slick black chairs against white tables, it was a warm but modern space that didn't cramp diners and allowed for audible conversation with those at your table. To start we were served house made bread. Baked fresh that afternoon it almost melted in our mouths. As a vegetarian, I requested a meatless version of the antipasto plate for entree and the staff were more than happy to oblige. The highlight of the plate was the hummus (again house made of course) which was creamy and smooth with a nutty flavour, not overpowered by garlic as so many versions are. Every element on the plate impressed but I cannot fail to mention an espresso cup of artichoke soup that was an exciting component both aesthetically and on the palate. My dining partner enjoyed oysters for his entree. Freshly shucked at 5pm that evening, they left him wanting more than just the half dozen ordered. The red wine and shallot vinaigrette was subtle enough to allow the fresh sea flavour to shine whilst still lifting the dish. My main was a house made tagliatelle, a special with pancetta and radicchio, altered to exclude meat and include additional vegetables, which came as mushrooms, chestnuts, carrots and peas. The pasta was perfectly cooked and it was a strange but more-ish combination of ingredients. My dining partner ordered the pork belly. As he took the first bite, you could hear the crunch from across the table and the look of delight on his face summed up the experience. A side salad of five different tomatoes, plus walnuts, fresh basil and pomegranate dressing was so refreshing - a great recommendation from our waiter. Upon thanks for catering to my vegetarian requests (even though there was already a vegetarian option for each course on the menu), our waiter so kindly advised that with just three days notice, on our next visit I could be supplied with a whole vegetarian menu. I was blown away at how accommodating the staff were. It must be mentioned that all the floor staff (including the restaurant?s namesake) made an effort to connect with us and every table they served, in a completely genuine, unobtrusive and friendly manner. With no room for dessert we opted for tea and coffee, which were of the highest quality, and each accompanied by a smooth, delectable chocolate, these little details separating the best restaurants from the average. To top off an already amazing dining experience, we were given a complimentary glass of quince liqueur imported from France - a rich, velvety, exquisite drop. Despite the many great dining venues we've yet to try in Adelaide, I cannot wait to return to George's on Waymouth, where the food and the service are equally as impressive and hard to fault.

We are regulars to Alphutte (swiss restaurant on Pulteney) and we find Georges similar to Alphutte in a way. Simple menu, fresh produce, and excellent service!!!

I went to Georges with my partner on a recommendation. A phone call from George himself that day to confirm our booking was the first hint that this place is not just your run of the mill venue. From the moment we stepped in we were warmly welcomed, jackets were taken and we were offered a drink. Ice cold peroni's started us off as we perused the menu and wine list, eventually choosing a Bowen Estate cabernet sauvignon. Our waiter's knowledge of, and enthusiasm for the Coonawarra winery was appreciated as this writer is a big Bowen fan. I'm also a big Bowie fan, but that's another story. Back to the food - we began with a shared antipasto which another friendly waiter took the time to carefully describe upon service. We've not tasted one quite like it and every piece was well presented and truly delicious. No complaints - except for the fact I will now compare others I try with this fine example and they will all lose, and lose badly. Her main was pasta filled with sweet potato and a sage and butter sauce, mine a Clare Valley scotch fillet with anchovy butter. Both main meals were success stories. We turned our attention to dessert after a short break and my partner tried a pear tartin whilst I chose affogato with the housemade ice cream being the star. It seemed a travesty to melt down this manna from heaven with piping hot espresso but I relented. Full marks. I enjoyed a Seppeltsfield tokay between spoonfuls while my companion sampled a flavoursome digestivo on ice. As for her thoughts on the tartin, she didn't speak a word for 20 minutes so you might say it worked for her. Georges is a warm and relaxing space with great front of house staff, a professional owner and talented chefs. You will pay a little more at Georges on Waymouth but it is rated as a top restaurant because put simply, it is one and it's worth spending a little more for the experience. By George, give it a try. Soon.

I go to Georges whenever I can for coffee with clients. I have been there once for lunch and it was superb. Three courses, three major wins. The staff are extremely attentive and helpful and once they get to know you will address you by name, giving a friendly atmosphere.

Having had lunch at Georges I decided to give breakfast a go. Arrived at 8.00am for breakfast to find that there was one person on seating people, handing out menus, taking orders and making coffees. Needless to say we didn't get to order until 8.30am and the food didn't arrive until 8.45am. I managed to scoff it and only be 5 minutes late for my 9.00am meeting. To make up for the poor service the food needed to be outstanding - unfortunately not. It was ok and not what I expected from Georges. The eggs in sugo were plain - definitely need spicier chorizo.
