Ambience is great, staff friendly. Serving sizes small for $22 to $27!(Zaika and Delhi Spice charge half of that!)Some dishes taste the same, look the same...the last visit was $280 for 7 persons, $40 a head...and I was still hungry,hmmmn...think again! My daughter says going to a resto is plain socializing not filling up yourself...I still want to burp and thank the chef for a nice meal! That's the reason why I did not cook at home!!!
Wow, what can i say. this restaurant is just beautiful. great service, fabulous warm welcoming atmosphere and the food is just so tasty. i will be back for sure
I cannot write enough positive adjectives to describe this place. The food is amazing and immensely tasty. The restaurant has a warm and cosy feel, which serves to enhance the dining experience. However this restaurant's greatest strength is its staff. From the minute we came in I we were treated as though were royalty. To say that the staff are friendly and incredibly helpful is an understatement. I strongly recommend Kathmandu Palace and will definitely be returning. However make a booking, as it is very busy!
This is one of my all time favourite resteraunts! I love it here, the food is wonderful and uniquie, the dumplings and deserts especially are to die for - not to mention the side dishes. The setting is wonderful with photos and tokens from the Himalayan region. Wine menus are great, service is great and its all very cheap. Where can you find a resteraunt that sells king prawn dishes that are good quality at $17 to $22?? Being a vegeterian I had an excellent selection to chose from and found plenty of options could also be adjusted. You would be mad to not eat here!
As regular restaurant goers, our group decided to try Kathmandu, we had never heard of it but a friend smelt the enticing aromas after a walk down the bay. This restaurant had all the ticks in all the right boxes, I couldnt fault them in any way. Food was fantastically flavoursome, service was fast & friendly with a warm and cosy atmosphere. Plenty of parking right out the front as well. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT FOOD IS TO DIE FOR!!!!!!
Food and wine are my enjoyment, KP are at the top of my list. Best Nepali Restaurant in Australia, second to non. Food, Cellar, Service, Ambience. Will always recommend without hesitation. Terry Creek
Just had what can only be described as the best 'indian' meal, and 'indian' does not do the subtle spices and elegant flavors enough justice and this is before we describe the fantastic service and pleasant ambiance. We will go back and back again.
Food is absolutley magic! My girlfriend organised this for me as a surprise because i love exotic food. She has slowly started to come around to spicy food but doesn't really enjoy the heat. Kathmandu capture all the flavours of the hot spices but don't over power with to much heat. Would recommend this to all.
Wonderful Food. Cosy setting in a wonderful old building, great for a cold winter night. The staff are generally very friendly and helpful. My pick of the Nepalese restaurants in Adelaide. Excellent selection of Gluten Free options.
Fabulous, highly recommended. The food was absolutely delicious, service very good, staff very friendly and helpful. Will definately go again Rod and Kathy
What a great restaurant. Very well balanced, fabulous food, excellent friendly and unobtrusive service and a nice dining room that wasn't too noisy. The food was absolutely beautifully spiced and cooked to perfection. In particular the lamb chops from the clay oven were historic and it is the best roti I have eaten. The dessert we had wasn't as much of a triumph. We'd probably not bother with dessert again, but will definitely return many times for everything else.
Delicious food and although tasty not too spicy. We had a table for 3 which was a bit squashed up in the corner. As far as value for money is concerned, I think it is a bit over priced.
Leanne: 9/10/10 We accidently went to this place thinking it was still Elsie out of Africa...however when we got there, we were told that the African place had not been there for 2 years. As we still had a booking we decided to give it a try, and glad we did. We'd both never had Nepalese food, and can say we thoroughly enjoyed it. We're both not into spicy spicy food, and was pleased that it had mild flavours, and didn't need to ask for a glass of milk! It had a kick, but made you want to go back for more. the curry puffs and veggie dumplings were lovely as was the chicken and lamb we had for our main...Lovely little low lit setting with nice sublte wall hangings and orniments. The food and wine prices were also great. The owner was great, not having had nepalese he explained the menu and how most of the dishes are not hot n spicy which then swayed me to change my mind and get the lamb, instead of the chicken as well, and i'm glad i did. Really nice restaurant and would definitley go back in the future :)
A fabulously diverse menu to choose from & a nice space with linen tablecloths. The food was very tasty however my fish was not cooked properly. When I raised this with them I got no acknowledgement at all.
Complete rubbish, go find a better place. Service, attitude & food is a disgrace.
