What looks to have once been some kind of Spanish resturaunt has become one of the nicest surprises that I have had in recent years. The food here is extremely tasty, although some of the dishes may be a little risky for the less eager patron. Not this bloke though! Lots of salted fish dishes, a generally great specials board and a decent wine list. Best to come here for a banquet or a group booking (always the way with Asian style meals anyway) to ensure you get a decent idea of what the place is really like. Sit out the back if possible however, be aware that the service can be quite slow.

The best laksa in Adelaide! And at $7.80 at lunch it is incredible value. Do yourself a favour and try it. You won't be dissapointed! The other food is also very delicious and also good value. I have always found the service to be fast, friendly and very helpful.

There's a chicken claypot rice that you all must try out. It is not written on menu but check the black board for special. Service is fast for those who are starving!!

The surroundings are not the best, think sheets hanging from the walls, but the food is excellent value and pretty tasty! Some dishes were not our taste, (although they are probably very traditional), but the char kwey teow, and a few other dishes are great. This is an excellent place to go for a cheap feed when you are very hungry!!

If you can ignore the plain and dated decor, and the difficulty in getting a park, then this is a good place for some Malaysian tucker. Some recommended dishes: Ayam Kadazan Fish curry Lam curry Chicken Rice Salt & Pepper Pomphret (sp?) Curry Laksa Nasi Lemak The service may lack finese, but the staff are often polite and obliging.

Restaurant decor is below average. Rude staffs especially the lady boss...asked for tap water but given bottles of mineral water instead. It cost us like 2aud a bottle. According to the waitress, the restaurant don't provide tap water. So obviously to us the motto of the restaurant is to squeeze each penny off you for anything. Food is average and when we told the boss about it, she wasn't happy at all and gave us a f-d up look. Personally i will never go back there again, and they are not the only restaurant on gouger st anyway. Advice to EVERYONE- STOP GOING THERE! Don't support the restaurant!! Teach the staffs/boss a lesson..they need to fckn improve in their customer service.

Laksa (esp. the Curry Chicken Laksa) , ayam kadazan and sar ho fun are among the better dishes there.Unfortunately, it isnt a place to indulge on regularly as the pricing for the food can be extraordinary high. Furthermore, the service offered in the restaurant can inconsistent and slow, so do bring heaps of patience whenever you order food there.

i wasn't expecting much for service after reading the previous reviews about this place but was pleasantly surprised tonight. we were served by a young male working the drinks and he was very polite and took our order quite quickly had the fish head curry at $39.90 i didn't think it was worth it given fish head is so cheap and there's hardly any meat on the head. but tasty nonetheless. kway teow was very nice, authentic tasting, and good value for money at 12.90. Also had claypot seafood and tofu which was lovely. one thing i must mention is that after diving into the fish head, we were a little shocked to find a fish hook. Luckily it was bright pink otherwise we might not have spotted it.....had the potential to have caused some nasty cuts if we hadn't spotted it. Brought it to the attention of the waiter who said he would let the chefs no, he apologised. nice food but fish head curry not worth it.

Hats off to the chef for great, authentic Malaysian food BUT lady owner/manager certainly needs a lesson in manners. Food can only taste good when served with a smile. Even if she was indifferent it would still be fine. But she is certainly on a whole different tangent. Disappointing!

Disappointed: 1 year, 1 month ago – Link & Share

Very rude service, especially lady owner. Went there with my partner for lunch previously and only ordered 1 lunch special and another dish, and the lady owner rudely said, "lunch special no sharing". We are paying for the meal, who cares if we share or not. Do not order the satay, it tasted terrible. The chicken and beef was overcooked and dry. The peanut sauce tasted sour! Lady owner needs to smarten up and smile more as good customer service is as important as the food.

The food weren't that bad, service was quite slow.. however the owner (a lady with short hair) has to learn more about manners. When I mistakenly pay her a 2 dollar with a 1 dollar coin, she ran outside the restaurant and yell at my family and I, urging us to return her another dollar..then cursing us in Chinese. It wasn't even intentional and it's only 1 dollar. I certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Food was average and very unauthentic. When complained about a dish the manager told us to get out if we dont like it. Thats no way to treat customers
