we have been dining @ Lim's for over 20 years and we are always impressed with service, food, atmosphere and value. Mr Lim and delightful Daisy plus Bruce and Phillip and the rest of the team manage to make us feel very special and make our visit one to remember Thanks Keryn and Mal

Have been going here on and off for years and years. Never had a bad meal or experience and the food is really good. I have reacted to some chinese food at other restaurants but they are very considerate at Lims of allergies and no added msg! Always yummy and always friendly with great service. The restaurant is lovely to dine in, great atmosphere.

Love it - We have dined there for over 30 years and taken our children with us since they were babies - we now continue to have birthdays and celebrations with our family and their partners - The meals have always been fabulous - the staff are great and Lims is a wonderful host.

Why would you go to the trouble of having a dinner party at home when you can have a banquet at Lim's. Phil is very helpful in suggesting special dishes and they also have quite a good wine list. The staff are absolutely delightful and certainly make you feel at home.

Joyful wait staff, excellent food, and a welcoming atmosphere, Lim's is always good for a quick take away or for little celebrations. If you're lucky your evening's experience will be made perfect by a visit to your table from the delightful Mr Lim! The whole menu comes highly recommended. Tip: Be sure to let the friendly staff know if you are celebrating a birthday!

I love this place. I've celebrated birthdays and had many meals there. Their food is always amazing and nothing is unappetising. Everyone is helpful and fun and willing to do anything to make your experience better.

Awesome is the word but that is a little over the top. The food is excellent and it has a very friendly atmosphere and this explains why the regulars keep on coming back. You see familiar faces every time that you go there and the staff seem to know most of their clients.

What a great family business this is. After going for the first time we were welcomed like long lost friends. The 2nd time we went they remembered us & what we had ordered the last time we were in which was 1 month in time. Since then we are regulars customers & are treated like family. The owners come out to our table & chat for for a time, never too long to be annoying just a enough to add to a great night. Often they give us complimentary drinks or desert, all of which we decline but they insist. Try this restaurant, you will be pleased you did. We decided to go to Lim's this fathers day as we do on many other special occasions. As usual the food and service was excellent. Being regulars at Lim's we decided to try some new items from the menu such as the Singapore Chilli Lamb and Combination Sweet and Sour (meat) which were both delicious. The owner, Mr Lim, is always friendly and personally welcomes all of his guests to the restaurant and will often join them for a complimentary Baileys after the meal. I look forward to returning soon.

We celebrated three birthdays tonight at Lims and most of our table had the banquet. It was really great value - lots of food and the staff were wonderful, singing us happy birthday and making us feel special:). Highly recommended!!!!!

We always celebrate our family birthdays at Lims. Over the years Lim and his staff have always provided tasty food and excellent service. The restaurant is always a popular choice when deciding where to go to celebrate a birthday or just a nice evening meal. Dining in, the staff are always friendly and service is punctual. The take-away option is also good value when wanting a night off cooking. I would always reccommend Lims Chinese to anyone...

Excellent food! Excellent service! The owner of this venue takes pride in welcoming all guests to his restaurant. He is a very nice man - likewise the staff are also very friendly and welcoming.

The food is nice but is very expensive compared to alot of Chinese restaurants. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. Food took a while to come to the table but the resaurant was very busy!

Stock-standard Chineese restaurant, safe but unexciting. Leans towards the "family restaurant" end of the spectrum with a menu and decor duplicated in so many Chineese restaurants across the country. The service was very good and friendly, however, and I was thrilled to be able to order a Fruit Cup - a drink I haven't had since I was a child in the 70s.

Surprised by the high rating on here. Eaten in the restaurant once and taken away once - all perfectly ok, but just that, ok. This is very standard Chinese fare - nothing special in terms of food quality, flavour, menu selection and not amazing value. Reasonably priced, but not great. I don't not recommend going, but wouldn't highly suggest it to someone. Useful if you want Chinese food close to Jetty Road, but really nothing too special. Not Chinese, but for much better Asian food in central Glenelg, I suggest Tanapa Thai on Jetty Road.

Just went there after reading the reviews here, to be honest, I was extremely dissapointed with the restaurant. I will breakdown the review according to the aspect : Food : not bad but definitely not something suitable for Asian. Might suit most of the Australian but why do you have to pay heaps of money for something that is not traditoinal? Ambience : This is probably one of the nice deco of chinese restaurant around Adelaide I would say. Service : Great service to Australian, you might be disspointed as an Asian if you go in. Value : Nice food but doesn't worth the value. Small serve as well when compare to a lot of the chinese restaurants with lower price. To spent AUD$17 on a plate of chicken? You must be joking!

Not terrible, but not what the reviews suggested. We decided to go to Lim's because of the great reviews from others. The food was average- very much 'adjusted to Australian taste'- and the portions were actually quite small. However, the restaurant was quite clean and tidy, and seemed popular with locals- you could definitely do worse.

$1.50 per person for water? $1.00 per person service charge on the weekend? We decided to go to Lim's as the reviews seemed very good. Our experience was not what the locals were raving about. Food was nothing great. Ripped for water, which we thought was tap water. And we asked to order 3 times before being served. Lucky we live interstate.

We had been told to try Lim's but to be honest we were extremely disappointed. The food was only average for Chinese and presentation was poor. It was not good value for money as we thought it very expensive for what you were getting. Salt and pepper squid, 7 pieces for $19 they must be joking! The chilli chicken came on a sizzling plate and it wasn't even sizzling. Service was poor the girl who served us could not even help with meal selection said she did not know. The whole experience was very poor - we will not go back again!

Moved to the area and decided to try Lims as had been told it was good and if my memory serves me correctly they won some award several years ago?? I emphaised to my family that we would get a great meal here...What a let down!!! $40 plus for a takeaway that no-one would or could eat....Definitely wont be going back
