this place is just way, way too noisy. the food is average not a lot to rave about. the service ok. i wont go back though cant hear yourself think.
simply awesome everytime
LOVE this place! Highly recommend to everyone! Love the kefta pizza and the meat platter...beautiful! My mouth is watering now just thinking of it! Great service too...such passion shown by the owners!
gets better everytime.. awesome
I ate there the other night with my girlfriend it wad fantastic I was full but felt like eating more, even my fussy girlfriend loved every bit of it :):):)
Food and service oustanding. This is a real little gem of a restaurant. Menu is truly mediterranean -not just IItalian. A great experience.
Breakfast very nice but I would have to say the best tiramisu I've ever tasted. I would go back just for the tiramisu... and I have, several times.
I am a regular at the mediterranean and believe it is one of the better cafe/restaurants in adelaide. The food is sensational, especially the Paella, and the staff and management are great. I truly recommend you try.
The food here is sensational and always good. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Would highly reccomend this restaurant to everyone!
Met with 2 friends last night and although busy great service and the food was fantastic, scallapini melted in the mouth. Big tick from me will go back again definitely.
Great coffee, great food, great service! We consider ourselves to be regulars and would have 3 or 4 coffees there a week. We have also eaten at this ristorante many times now, and it is consistently good. Highly recommended.
A very unexpectedly pleasant dining experience-excellent food, with a wide variety of options on the menu. Generous portion sizes (so much so I had to take some of my main course home after sharing an entree with my husband) full of flavour. Very good service from the staff. Rather bare decor but no more than expected from a cafe and convenient access and parking.
Food was absolutely fantastic. The Mixed Grill is a must, 1st Class.
For a cafe, the range of quality of the food really high. Not every dish is a knockout but I've never had a bad meal there. The portions are very generous and my son loves their spaghetti. Their full breakfast is excellent. Service is always friendly but can be a little slow when it gets busy (eg Friday nights). I frequently go to the Med when I want to go out for a nice meal that is a cut above a decent pub meal.
I totally disagree with Kates review of the Mediterranean. I am a regular customer at this restaurant and I find the food and service sensational. The workers make you feel at home and treat you as a friend. The food is always good and I highly recommend it to anyone due to its large menu with alot of variety to choose from. Another bonus is its parking area which I find very handy compared with Jetty Road! Overall this is a great restaurant for all occasions even if its just a quick coffee fix or a bite to eat!
Enjoyed a great meal. Serves were very large. A great find.
We went there for breakfast one day after my partner swore that they had the best coffee, it was indeed very good. Their french toast was amazing and mediterranean breakfast full of quality ingredients cooked well. Read my full review here: http://www.foodieling.com/2012/05/mediterranean-cafe-glenelg-south.html
It sounds to me like someone connected with the business has come on and put reviews on after some bad ones. The dates are interesting close and the 20/20 review is very over the top.
went there about a year and half ago and thought it was just average. have they change owners since then?
Went for "quick lunch". Staff are lovely, food ok, would not have thought A class quality as rated in the Entertainment Book. However, not worth waiting nearly an hour for a lamb wrap and small pizza, given place was only half full. Won't be rushing back
Too noisy; lamb cutlets very fatty - tasted awful with cranberry sauce! Not going back to this place despite the good service by waitresses.
Went to this restaurant as an Entertainment Book member but must admit was a little disappointed with the prices considering that it really was just cafe dining. My husbands pasta was overcooked and my sons Paella was overcooked as well. Quite noisy as it was not even full. Probably wouldn't go back again
The food is not bad a little greasy though. Service good until you go to pay and you find a 36% tip attached to the bill as the man serving you is asking a lot of questions to keep you distracted. Nice try!
Have been here a number of times as am local however, the service is sometimes lacking when I have had to approach the bar myself to get drinks. Otherwise no issues with the food...only the large chef who tends to stand around at the entrance to the kitchen with the potty mouth probably needs to keep his voice down as this is somewhat embarrassing when bringing International guests to dine at your local eatery.
Food was sensational compliments to the team in the kitchen. Service was shocking staff socializing with their friends while forgetting other customers are waiting for food and drinks.
Over an hour to serve a small pizza and one lamb wrap - you have to be joking! Pizza overpriced but wrap seemed good value. Too noisy to relax. Open the doors for goodness sake - it wasn't that hot outside.
Possibly the worst dining experience I can remember. The food was terrible and the service was worse. The service was incredibly slow, even with the dining room only 1/4 full. I can't begin to imagine how bad it would be when they were busy, although it's hard to imagine this place ever being busy at all. They then tried to charge me for a meal we never recieved! I will never waste my time and money going back.
Very poor food offering both price and options.
