The Cafe Prego Experience for me was incredible. The food was absolutely delicious and definitely affordable. Helpings were very generous, with options like salad, chips, mash, and veg. The waitresses were also lovely- very helpful, hospitable efficient and friendly. Not to mention attractive! They have also got in new black leather couches which are heaven to sit in! They recently painted a new blue wall which also adds to the ambience and calm. If you were bored, there was music, a plasma TV in the corner- silent, waitresses to talk to or paintings to look at. Cafe Prego is also fantastic for large and family bookings. Lovely cafe! Got to be my favourite!

this cafe is a true gem! Love the alfresco dining area- beautiful beach views. Manager & waitresses are friendly & very accommodating, nothing is ever too difficult for them & they modify meals with a smile-unlike some other cafe's where you're made to feel like you're annoying them! Food is always delicious & so reasonably priced for that matter... i agree with hannah i've just tried out their new couches as well they're awesome!

Had my husband's 50th birthday dinner at this cafe last week. great experience - they closed off the entire downstairs section for us. We picked dishes to put on our personlised menu which everyone loved! The service was the highlight - Would like to say a big thank you to all the staff for making it such a memorable night.

We dined there on a friday night and had a very pleasant evening. my wife ordered a capricosa pizza and I had the surf and turf special. The pizza was one of the best Ive tried, quality toppings and fresh dough I was quite impressed. The surf and turf was fantastic. A generous serving of steak piled with calamari and prawns in a creamy sauce. The entre cheese and garlic bread is also a must! overall a very happy experience with helpful staff and great service. will be coming back

Surprisingly good food for a small suburban cafe. Nicely located on the relaxed Jetty Road at Brighton. About the same price for food compared to the unexplainable popular Cafe Primo but for some reason the quality of food at Prego is is much better.

I dined here last friday night after deciding to check out Jetty Rd Brighton. I chose Caffe Prego as it seemed to be one of the more recent additions to the street. We ordered the cheese and garlic bread and two serves of Garlic Prawns. The garlic prawns were a little over seasoned but still delicious. The prices were reasonable but the ambience was slightly spoiled by the large groups and families with young children (ideal restaurant if you wanted to take the family out). Overall the experience was worthwhile and I will be returning again soon.

Very good quality food, and the waitresses were simply fantastic and so friendly! However, the ambience was destroyed as the owner seemed to have a very short temper and was yelling at all his staff. Other than that, wonderful. Better change the owner though if they want a more pleasant ambience :)

Having a day out with some friends we decided we would go down to brighton for dinner. We chose to dine at Caffe Prego. We were all in a relatively fun and friendly mood from the days antics so we were still rather happy and chatty. The Staff were absolutly fantastic. Very friendly waitress's and extremly approachable. Once we had sat down with our menus however we felt a little disenchanted by the sound of the manager yelling at his staff. Being that it seemed to be a fairly quiet night in the restaurant, therefore very few tables it was very loud and obvious that he was yelling at his waitress's for whatever reason. Quite expectadly upon looking around the room, all tables had gone silent. A rather uncomfortable experience. Despite this however the food was excellent. My friends had the barramundi fish and the penne prego which they seemed to consume very quickly and happily. i had a large pollo satay pizza which was cooked to perfection and tasted magnificent (however slightly more pricy than what i would have expected). i returned to the counter several times during the night to buy more drinks and every time the girl at the bar was very friendly and helpful, (the manager seemed to refuse to make eyecontact with myself or any other customer and kept himself busy with whatever he was doing - clearly in a very grumpy mood). to sum up the food was delicious and the staff were more than accomodating however the owner or manager destroyed the ambience by his extremely unfriendly attitude towards customers and his very loud scolding of his own staff. a little bit pricy for the style of restaurant it is (similar to cafe primo or cafe buongiorno menus) but overall not too bad at all. i may go there again to give it another try.

We dined at Caffe Prego on a Saturday morning and must say we were bitterly disappointed with the service. We sat down at about 9am and had ordered by 9.15. It was not busy, in fact we were the only table occupied inside whilst there were several outside. We received our fruit juices and coffee promptly, but had to wait 45 minutes to get our meal. Needless to say our drinks were consumed before our meal arrived. There were people who came in after us who were served their meal before us. I noticed only 1 person in the kitchen. When our meal finally came out just after 10 o'clock, it was cool. Whilst we didn't complain and probably should have, the size of the meals and the quality was good. Another couple at the table next to us, who came in after us and were served before us, also complained about the wait. The ambience and location of the Caffe is great, but I doubt we will go again, just in case it is really busy.
