One of the best Indian resuarants north of the city. I always get the butter chicken (I think their's is the best Ive tried!) Garlic nann from there is also a winner. I eat in or get takeaway and get the same taste and service either way- great.

This is one of my favourite Indian restaurants. It's not much to look at (just old fashioned and quite 'cosy'), but the food has always been delicious and well priced. Can't go past the Garlic Naan Bread. We actually had take-away from their last night and managed to feed 6 adults and 3 children for only $60. Now I'd say that's value for money.

Always friendly and the food is also consistently tasty and great. We were interested in the cooking classes also offered by Saffron, it sounds like good valve and exciting. We recommend Saffron to all our friends and family.

Have only had take aways from this place but found the food fresh and perfectly flavoured. As you look around the place everyone appears to enjoy the low key atmosphere and the bollywood fims on mute in the cnr.. Having a meal there tonite ,pretty sure i won't be disapointed

Just came back from Saffron. The place was packed because of Valentine's Day. Normally they are not open on Tuesdays but I guess they made an exception for this special day. The place was cosy, they had Indian inspired pictures on the wall, nice Indian motif tablecloths and a few fake plants. Although minimally decorated, the place was quite warm and welcoming. We ordered the butter chicken, malai kofta, chicken tikka masala, 2 garlic bread, and 2 serves of rice. As Indian is my favourite food, I have been to quite a few Indian restaurants, but I must say that Saffron had the BEST butter chicken of them all. The garlic bread we had was very large and quite tasty. At the end of the evening, to celebrate Valentine's Day everyone in the restaurant received a complimentary ice cream :) They did overcharge as for our bill, 5$ extra, but we didn't mind as we had a great time. I was a little bit disappointed that they did not serve their food in the traditional copper dishes. And my husband was disappointed that he only received 3 pieces chicken in his curry. Nevertheless he was full at the end of the dinner. Going back there to have the butter chicken is well worth it :)

Overall this is one of my favourite Indian Restaurants. The lamb korma is the best I've had in a restaurant, and at a very reasonable price. The situation of the shop front makes ambience difficult, but they have very nice table covers and decorations. All meals come very mild, but can be made hotter on request. All in all, there are probably nicer places to get Indian food from, but not that I've discovered in the price range.

The prices were fair. The naan bread was very nice, as was the chicken tikka. However, the main factor in deciding whether I will return to an Indian restuarant, the buttr chicken, was under par. It was too sweet and sugary and frankly, I've had better, a lot of times. Probably won't go back, but it's not an awful place, I would recommend it. It just depends on whether you're a butter chicken lover (like I am) or not.

A pleasant introduction to Indian flavours but very mild. Not for people who like some heat in their curries. I had beef Madras and found the meat too tough. Rice was served in a single bowl for the table but was hardly enough to go round.$3 a head made $15 for the table seem a bit pricey considering how much was available. Not one to rave about.

I read the reviews before I ordered, thinking that it was going to be fine.....well that was an understatement.....I wanted to give them the benefit of my doubt... .I ordered an entre, vegetable platter, (which was 3 tiny little things, which were stale, and horrible, they felt like rubber.) The garlic naan felt like I was chewing rubber, how grose..... Me & my husband ordered a chicken tikka, and he ordered lamb korma, and i'm not kidding here, it was discusting......ALL the food was discusting, and not only that they aren't that cheap. I just felt like having Indian and instead I felt really off, I don't know how a restaurant can get away with serving food of that quality....... Is there anyone out there that can tell me what I can do about my situation, because the food wasn't only horrible, it was luke warm.....PLEASE.....if you're like me and your desperate to order a meal, and want to give them the benefit of your doubt.....DON'T......I am also a good judge of FOOD, as I am also a cook myself, and have made meals just like these ones, only to just taste so much nicer......

The curries were ok but far from good compared to others we have tried from restaurants in the area. The butter chicken was quite sweet and somewhat lacking in flavour, though the paneer dish was quite nice. The naan bread was the least enjoyable we have ever had, large portions but it was unpleasant in flavour and texture. The phone service was good and though it didnt appear on the menu they agreed to make mattar paneer for us, but whilst waiting for the takeaway in store (and being the only customers in there) we felt we were treated as a bit of a hassle and were slightly uncomfortable. Overall an average experience, will drive a little further to the Golden Grove restaurant next time we want Indian.
