The experience is amazing its Delicious, a real experience of great Japanese cuisine. My favs are the seafood and the steak, both cooked to perfection on the hot plate in front of you.

Delicious, a real experience of great Japanese cuisine. Our favs are the oysters and the steak, both cooked to perfection on the hot plate in front of you. We dined at the Shiki to celebrate our anniversary, and after our meal they gave us a card signed by all staff plus a magnificent, personalised cake. A great end to a fab dining experience. Expensive, but perfect for a special occassion.

Best tepanyaki I've ever had. Outstanding for their seafood and very attentive service. The ambience is very good although it can get a little noisy when nearing full capacity. Wine is a little expensive given the range on offer. Not a cheap place to dine but overall a worthwhile experience.

The freshness, textures and flavours of the food is breathtaking. The sashimi is a taste of heaven and tempura is perfection on a plate. The items ordered are brought individually to savour rather than put together on the plate. The service is very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I have two criticisms, the wine list although excellent is prohibitively expensive and corkage is $50 per bottle, also you will walk away smelling strongly of cooking due to the teppenaki tables, they really should install better extraction systems. Overall this restaurant and it's food is highly recommended.

I have been to this restaurant 3 times now, and have always had a good time. We've always had the 10 course menu, and i'm usually getting full by the 4th course. You never leave hungry that's for sure. You can have option to have your meal cooked right in front of you, tepanyaki style, or choose to sit at a private table. We have always sat around the cook, as it adds a bit of pizzaz to your evening. If you don't like sitting with a bunch of strangers (not that you have to talk to them, but have always found you end up striking a conversation with people) then a private table maybe more your style if your wanting a little more intimacy. It's not on the cheap side in means of food and wine, but guarenteed a lovely and filling meal. For the 2 of us with the 10 course each and a glass of wine you'll be looking around the $250 mark, so maybe a good one for a special occasion. Looking forward to dining there again soon :)

For a special occasion where you want something a bit different - this is the place for you. From the moment you walk into the Japanese "garden" you forget that you're in a large chain hotel because it's so peaceful. I love that most customers are seated around the teppanyaki grills so that you can watch your own meal (and others) being cooked. The menu is structured around a lot of smaller meals which means you can try a bit of everything. The highlight dish for me was the whiting with coriander pesto, but the prawns, oysters, steak, asparagus etc were all good too.

great food. Love the oysters and spinach rolls! went there two weeks in a row with family and spent all up a grand, so save for special occasions.

This was our first ever visit to a Japanese restaurant. All courses & sauces were explained by the waitress or chef. It was both an educating experience as well as an entertaining one. Will return when next in Adelaide.
