When you experience a meal at this restaurant, it becomes easy to understand why it is one of the oldest and most highly regarded venues in the state, its collection of awards accurately reflect its high standards. The food was excellent, the presentation, quality of ingredients and evident passion the chefs infuse into their unique dishes is outstanding. The wine matching talents of Oliver, The Manse restaurants wine guru, are truly exceptional. I was treated to the premium Grande Degustation Menu offered, with matched wines and I certainly went home full and very satisfied. The waiting staff with friendly manners and subtly humorous natures, who clearly all have a passion for their roles, made the evening all that more enjoyable. The ambience which varies throughout the venue was equally attractive and soothing. If you are someone who is a food and wine enthusiast, then you will simply love The Manse. It is not cheap, however at the end of your dining experience, you are aware of where your money has gone and you are able to quantify the expense in my opinion. I know Iíll be going back.

Wow!! What a spectacular place, the food is outstanding. in quality and presentation. This is food at the high art end of dining. We loved everything we experienced. Everyone should go at least once in their life. Every other restaurant should use The Manse as their benchmark.

Without doubt and this is the uncontested best restaurant this city has. It's become a point in case with dining in Adelaide that Sydney and Melbourne have left Adelaide eons behind in both culinary skill and and dining experience. It's just plain boring and repetitive. This restaurant is almost out of place in Adelaide, it's just that good ! No contest !

Wow! Dining on this restaurant should be on the list of things you have to do before you die - it's not to be missed, better than I even dreamed it could be. Splurge and go tonight!

As usual the manse delivers. The waiting staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful without being too overbearing. Didn't have time for the grand degustation this time but the four courses I did manage were perfectly executed and art in itself - but crucially also delivered on taste. Celsius take note ! By far the best restaurant in Adelaide and as good as many Michelin starred restaurants I have visited in the UK. Favourites were the pork sous vide (12 hours!) with celeriac made to look like noodles and almond shavings that looked like parmesan. Very fun. Only downside would be that the room was a bit cold despite the fire. Will be back.

Hard to give a restaurant 4.5 for value when the bill was $150 per person (one Grande Degustation, one Petite Degustation, none of the expensive options such as $20 surcharge for Wagyu over normal fillet and only one person drinking wine, so it could have been considerably more), but this one deserves it. Adelaide has become complacent in recent years, with quality standards and even value not up to the Eastern states, but The Manse sets the bar high. The kitchen deserves high praise, the wait staff good (but caught out on some minor details), the sommelier very astute (although The Furst - it accompanied the mulloway - needed a little more acidity to deal with the radish cream). After that, the wine/food match couldn't be faulted (although the pourings were wine-tasting tiny) - the Spanish red, the Beaujolais (yes, Beaujolais!) were excellent and the Warre port (with the chocolate dessert) a standout. The ambience was tarnished slightly by a music track that sounded like one song on endless repeat (it wasn't) and by an old-money Adelaide couple who decided to engage a pair of knowledgeable and well-travelled Californians at an adjoining table in a conversation from which it was impossible for the rest of us to disengage. Then we had the table of businessmen in an adjoining room... All in all, possibly Adelaide's finest restaurant. Don't rest on your laurels, team. We'll be back and want to be challenged and inspired again.

We hadn't been to the Manse for several years and decided to celebrate my partner's birthday in style. From the moment we stepped in the door the service was excellent - we were looked after all night and our water and wine glasses were never empty. The staff knew the menu inside out and had obviously eaten the food themselves. We couldn't choose so decided to go with the Grande Degustation so that we could try everything. From the amuse bouche onwards the food was delicious with each course beautifully presented. A great night.

The Manse is truly unique in Adelaide, there is no other restaurant like it. Don't go expecting a giant steak and a full plate of veg. But do go expecting a taste journey that has been incredibly well thought out and ensure true flavour harmony. Unfortunately our sommelier seemed to be try to just fluff his way through. Quite pricey but you dont go for a budget meal, you go for a culinary dining experience.

We go to the Manse every year for my birthday and have for the past 6 years. The most recent experience was not the best. The ambience was fading as the decor was just starting to look a little worn, especially the white leather, whilst the flowers on our table were not fresh but were in fact browning and not very appealing. We didn't feel as 'special' as we had been made to feel on previous visits either. I am gluten intolerant and we'd been told on previous visits to note this at the time of booking and they would arrange for gluten free bread etc. This never happened, I was in fact served wheat bread despite reminding again that I needed gluten free food. I'm also certain my main was not served to me gluten free either, despite it being on a gluten free menu. unfortunately my stomach doesn't lie. The food was nothing on previous meals I have had there if you consider the best food I have ever eaten was from here, however I am rating this visit only. The charred crust on the wagyu overpowered and took away from the gentle flavour of the beef and I can't even remember what I had for an entree, which shows just how memorable it must have been. Food came out Heston "Fat Duck" style in weird serving dishes such as an anchovy tin, which I didn't like as it made it hard to eat. It just felt like the chef was trying way to hard. What happened to the beautiful honest food I used to get here? I'm not won over by theatrics, that's what cheesy theme restaurants are for. I'm paying for food. Desert was nice. As for value, I don't feel this visit was worth what we paid. I was rather disappointed.
