I think this is definitely the best Indian in Adelaide. The food was so flavoursome and the Veena Beef was to die for! Very quiet restaurant with excellent service. Very well priced too. I can't wait to go back!

Nice food, the second time we dined here was noticeably more spicy than the first. (I'm not a huge spice fan) but those who loves the spice enjoyed. Butter chicken was delicious, cuts of meat are good quality. The only thing I'm not such a fan of is their naan bread.

Food is ok. Service was ok. Would not recomend Garlic Nann bread. I asked if they used real garlic which they said yes but it didnt taste like it.. Restaurant is a bit over rated I think but is still nice.

Service was good, location is good, value is good. The food is so-so and I actually found it quite bland in comparison to what I would expect for Indian food. Consider me fussy, but for a country that has plentiful spices, if you're going to have a restaurant based on this, then don't cater to Australian taste - this is how the Chinese market went cornflour south! If you're looking for a traditional Indian, drive a bit further and visit the Bay of Bengal at Glenelg or The Spice Kitchen in Kensington or the Snake Charmer on Unley Road.

I've been going to Veena on and off for more than 10 years. They used to be excellent but they have deteriorated. They seem generally understaffed so be prepared to wait (OK if you're up for a leisurely meal, not good if you're eating before a movie!), though the staff are nice and polite. Their EFTPOS has been "unavailable" for almost a year, so I assume they just don't want to offer it any more -- BRING CASH or you'll be up for a walk to the nearest ATM. Their prices went up a while back and are now pretty high. All that aside, the food is very nice, though some of the dishes do seem a bit hotter than they used to be. Sadly, the place has a bit of a "cut-price" feel to it now, though the decor and setting has always been pleasant. Whoever's running it these days are not doing themselves any favours as I do not feel as strongly compelled to go back as I used to.

They wouldn't accept the Entertainment voucher for takeaway, even though no mention on the voucher that its for "dinning in only". However will let them off that one as they gave 10% off. Not hugely impressed by the food, but it was ok. The rest in in the fridge now maturing for a second visit. Maybe its just me, but I expect more from a curry than purely just sauce and meat. It's very similar to the take away joint just down the road which we only went to once. Perhaps in certain areas of India this is how the cuisine rolls, I don't know? Maybe its better dining in as there seemed to be quite a lot of people eating in.

Purchased a Groupon deal. booked for 7 pm meal arrived at 8.10 PM. The waiter explained there was a delay and apologised to all the patrons& brought out complimentary pappadums at the 50 minute mark. Noticed that the people ordering takeaway also had an extremely long waiting time. Lack of kitchen staff to caterer for a busy restaurant. Note to waiter, loose the "FCUK hat" ! Can say that the meal when it arrived was very tasty. Hopefully they fix up the staffing problem before we use the takeaway component of the offer. Great food, but get more help for the Chef...

Loved the food, but we were a group of 10 and we were very squashed and uncomfortable around the table, we did complain but to deaf ears. I would go back but won't even sit down if they try that again

Veena has potential. It's convenient and has a courtyard that could be put to really good use if it was tidied up. The service was polite and efficient. The entrees had a fresh taste and were enjoyable. The mains were somewhat let down by poor execution. Thick sauces that were unexciting, missing the fresh herbs and spices and were gloopy, and seems to mainly be made of tomato paste or tinned tomatoes. At this point I would not recommend visiting.
