Same owners, same great chefs, same friendly staff and more delicious food. The food is reasonably priced and their serving sizes are good as well. They don't charge any corkage which is always a plus. If you want to try authentic Indian food then you have to try Zaika once and after that you'll keep on goin back for more...

I am an all too often user of their take away menu rather than dining in, so I did take a point away for that because I have only eaten in there once. Personally I think the people that work there are really nice, I have never had a bad experience with anyone. The prices are pretty much in line with everywhere else and the portion sizes are more than fair. I highly recommend the Cheese Naan bread and butter chicken - they are definitely my weakness.. LOL

Our goddaughter took us there. Cozy place to eat in, father(chef) and son (waiter) work hard to please the palates of clientele. No corkage (unbelievable...when other restos overcharge up to $25 per bottle, dearer than the wine you bought...bah!!!) Serving sizes very fair, if you order two you would definitely take some home!!!Eat to your heart's content (and your stomach's!)Go and enjoy!

I have eaten in three times now. The Food is fantastic Service efficient and friendly. Unfortunately no ambience, they just need a little music and mood lighting maybe some type of Indian memorabilia for Atmosphere. No corkage which is very entivcing BYO only. Looking at going back soon for large groups it is fantastic

we really enjoyed our meal at Zaika Morphett Vale. The ambience isn't too flash. but who eats that! The food was fantastic, authentic tasting, large portions. Service was great, very friendly, clean waiters. We will go back again....many times as we could sit and chat with friends while enjoying the food. Liz / Port Willunga

I've been eating at Rani's (now Zaika) for the past 5 1/2 years and have never once had anything that I didn't love. My personal favourites are the Aloo Gosht and Garlic Naan. The service is great, everyone is always helpful and friendly and the value for money is great. The only time I managed to get through my main course was when I was 8 months pregnant!! I thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will continue to travel 30 minutes each way now that I have moved when I'm in the mood for Indian!

We have had Ranis and Zaika food regularly for many years, as take away. The samosas are the best in Adelaide, even in Melbourne they were not as good!! They have kept to tradition and not westernised the food as many asian places do. We hope they will be around for a long time. The restaurant could use a bit of ambience to enhance the eat in experience. Marika and Paul.

We used to visit Rani's, but think Zaika is better food from the 2 times we've visited. I know they say same chef, but seems different to me, and I'm a fan of Indian food! The sauces in the dishes have substance, and are thick and tasty. Lately at other Indian places the sauces seem watery or oily; Zaika's are definitely some of the best I've had lately. Both times have been takeaway, so service and ambience are hard to comment on. Surprisingly only one table of people in there, maybe as they are reasonably new? Definitely not due to the food, as it is great. Look forward to eating in next time.

Had a takeaway from here last night. Both curry and naan were beautiful. So so tasty. There was no-one eating in, not much ambience in house, but for takeaway ... fantastic...

The first time we went to Zaika's was to dine in on a Sunday evening. There seemed to be only one waiter and a chef working at 7pm. We asked for a table for two and the waiter appeared quite flustered even though they were half full. We sat down with our menu and waited, and waited and waited. 3 take away customers walked in and ordered their meals with the waiter before us. We still hadn't been served or ordered. We waited some more then finally gave up. We walked out and vowed to only get take away there again because take away customers seem to get prioirity preference. We have ordered take away from there since. We think the garlic naans taste just like bread so we don't bother with them. We also don't bother with the butter chicken - it hasn't much flavour. We certainly love the vindaloo though. delicous

Gutted...finally found somewhere my OH enjoyed his curry and i get dissapointed....basically im a veggie and last time i order the veg biriyani and asked for a curry sauce to go with it, totally enjoying my meal (veg pakoras are the best) until i find meat in the sauce....decided to try them again last night and order a veggie meal (play safe) and yet again i find meat pieces in it..i think they use the same sauce and add veggies :0( .. So to sum it up, if your not a veggie, great place, good value and OH said the fish curry was great..pity i wont be going again...

The Food Critic: 10 years, 5 months ago – Link & Share

Zaika's is not a sit in restaurant, there is no atmosphere and nothing to make you even feel like wanting to dine in.... BUT, their food is to die for! It is by far THE best Indian down south, without a doubt. They were closed one weekend so we tried their competitors at Oh Calcutta, and what a shock that was! It was blatantly obvious that they used 'jar' based curries (Pataks) as even the butter chicken tasted like Rogan Josh! If you want REAL, GENUINE flavoured Indian then look no further than Zaika's! The Food Critic gives them a 10/10 for food!
