As a foodie a visit to Vue de Monde was high on our list when planning this Melbourne trip. We knew it was going to be pricey but we also knew it was going to be a dining experience - and it was. From the moment we stepped in the door the service was amazing without being intrusive. The staff worked well together and knew where we were up to throughout the night. I love the fact that there is no menu and that each course is explained as it is presented. We went for the Gastronomes menu and the staff made sure to find out if there was anything that we weren't particularly fond of. We went for the wine match option and the sommelier was very tactful in determining how much we wanted to spend. We went for an option at the more expensive end of the scale and we had some brilliant aged wines. The staff whilst extremely knowledgable about the menu were also knowledgable about the produce and cooking methods. If they were unable to answer it was no trouble to find out. Love the open kitchen so you can get a feel for how the food is created.
If sensational was not a word used to describe a dining experience then i would have no choice but to use the term unbelievable. The only reason you should dine at Vue de Monde is simply for the experience of dining.
